Good to see some Ottawa Senators players returning early in preparation for the upcoming season. Allen Panzeri of the Ottawa Citizen was on the scene, snapping photographs of some of the team's most prominent players.

Karlsson evidently spoke to Panzeri after the skate, and reiterated a lot of what he's said about his brutal achilles injury from last-February.

Karlsson said there is still numbness in his left foot from the injury that saw his left Achilles tendon severed in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins last February.
Whether the numbness will disappear, he’s not sure.

“Ask me in a year,” he said, after a 45-minute skate.

But he doesn’t believe it will keep him from being the player he was before the accident.

Nothing dissimilar to what Karlsson told Swedish reporter Marie Lehmann last week. He doesn't feel the same. But will it debilitate performance?

This guy was also in attendance on Monday morning:

The sweater. Weird. So, so weird.
