The Calgary Flames will play their fifth of seven preseason games tonight when they take on the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Center.

Here are the projected lineups:

Calgary

Winnipeg

Kyle Connor - Mark Scheifele - Blake Wheeler
Nik Ehlers - Nic Petan - Patrik Laine
Mathieu Perreault - Adam Lowry - Marko Dano
Shawn Mathias - Andrew Copp - Brandon Tanev

Tobias Enstrom - Dustin Byfuglien
Dmitry Kulikov - Jacob Trouba
Ben Chiarot - Tucker Poolman

Steve Mason

Five things to watch:

1) Matthew Tkachuk was a little banged up and missed the first few games of preseason as a result. It'd be nice to see him shake off the rust and play well so he's good to go when the games count next week.

2) On defense, the Flames are dressing Michael Stone and five players who are fighting to be a) his partner or; b) the 7th defensemen. Glen Gulutzan will want to get down to a manageable camp number soon so it's very important for these guys to make a positive impression tonight.

3) Up front, almost every player is fighting for a depth spot. Again, Gulutzan will be making cuts soon -- likely before the Flames play another game -- so some of these bubble guys will fall out of the mix if they don't play well.

4) Mark Jankowski has had a very strong preseason thus far. In three games, he has three goals (1st on the team) and nine scoring chances (2nd to Sam Bennett). He'd almost force his way onto the team with another good performance tonight.

5) This will be a very good test for Eddie Lack. Winnipeg is dressing an extremely talented lineup, whereas the Flames' roster is made up almost entirely of guys fighting for depth jobs, so you can bet Lack will see no shortage of pucks fired his way. He'll need to be very good for the Flames to have a shot.

Puck drop is just after 8ET/6MT and can be seen on TSN3.
