No Mason, No Emery ...

It wouldn't be a Flyers road trip without some sort of catastrophe occurring.

With that in mind, we bring you the latest: Ray Emery is out with a "nagging" lower body injury - as GM Ron Hextall calls it - and didn't make the trip to Carolina.

Sounds like a groin pull given Hextall said it was requiring "maintenance."

Rookie Anthony Stolarz has been called up to back up Rob Zepp.

Interestingly, Emery took practice today in Voorhees and injured himself worse than before. Hextall doesn't see him coming back until the weekend, at the earliest.

Steve Mason remains unavailable until Saturday against the Rangers. Mason has not had a full practice with the club. Hextall said he will be re-evaluated on Wednesday but don't look for him to play in Toronto.

So the Flyers are without their No. 1 and No. 2 and now have No. 3 and No. 4 in net during a playoff push.

You can't make this stuff up ...
