A Sad Day For the Theodore Family

Reports are circulating today that the second child of Jose Theodore and Stephanie Cloutier passed away last week from unknown causes.

Although nothing has been confirmed, I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the Theodore and Cloutier family, both of whom must be wraught with anguish and pain in this very difficult time.

I hope that everyone will join in with me in expressing our sincerest wishes of strength and support.

Theodore has been a Montreal Canadien, Colorado Avalanche and is the current netminder for the Washington Capitals. I hope that all of these communities as well as that of the NHL will reach out and help the Theodore's in this time of need.

Update, 2:20pm: According to Tarik El-Bashir, the Caps Insider, the Capitals have confirmed the story in a statement issued by General Manager George McPhee.

This is a very sad time and, like the team and family deserve, this matter should be handled with class and allow the Theodore-Cloutier families privacy and respect.

I will post any official statements from the team as soon as they become available, for now you can read Tarik's post @ http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitalsinsider/

Again, my sincerest condolences to the families.
