2nd Game Misconduct in Last 4 Games

Word is that Alex Ovechkin's status is unknown as he sustained an injury to his right leg in a knee-on-knee hit with Carolina defender Tim Gleason.

Both players were helped off the ice while OV recieved a 5 minute major for kneeing.

Ovechkin appeared to be putting no weight whatsoever on his leg as was helped off the ice.

Not good news for Caps fans on both fronts, the probable injury and the likely suspension that will ensue due to Alex's 2nd questionable incident within a 5 game period.

As of now, the Caps are leading the 'Canes 2-1, but don't expect OV back for the start of the 2nd periodm, the game misconduct took care of that.

It's likely the Caps will play it safe with OV and evaluate him in the morning(if there is no need to go to the hospital).Caps confirm there will be no OV update until tomorrow morning.

For now, we will all have to wait for word from the Washington Capitals as to the status of Alex Ovechkin moving forward, but things don't look too good.

I will update when I can.

In another freak accident, Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Joe Corvo has been taken to the hospital after getting cut with Karl Alzner's skate.

Back with more as I get it.
