NHLer’s Pominville, Brassard, Burrows and Vlasic, Just a Few of the Names on Hand this Weekend…

Although full team rosters have yet to be confirmed, I have received word that among the participants in this summer’s Stanley Keg tournament will be Jason Pominville of the Buffalo Sabres, Derick Brassard of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Alex Burrows of the Vancouver Canucks and Marc-Edouard Vlasic of the San Jose Sharks.

Joining them in Pierrefonds this weekend will also be Martin St. Pierre(CHI), Josh Tordjman(AHL), Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau(ANA), Mathieu Carle(MTL), Alexandre Bolduc(STL), Joel Perreault(NSH), Phil Dupuis(CBJ) and Danny Groulx.

Leblanc to Lead Team of Young Guns

In an interesting twist for Montreal Canadiens fans, the club’s #1 pick of 2009, Louis Leblanc, appears to be on the roster. Although unconfirmed as of yet, Leblanc will likely be joining a group of his peers(a team that is generally younger than all the other teams in the tournament) for the weekend competition. Leblanc, who participated in last summer’s tournament, will certainly add a measure of excitement for local fans looking to catch a glimpse of the Canadiens forward of the future.

Here is the roster for Leblanc’s squad:

- Barberio, Mark. Moncton (LHJMQ) TB
- Chaput, Stephane. Albany (AHL) CAR
- Danis-Pepin, Simon. Maine (NCAA) CHI
- Giliati, Stefano. (AHL) TOR
- Killorn, Alex. Harvard (NCAA) TB
- Leblanc, Louis. Omaha (USHL) MTL
- Noreau, Maxime. (Houston) AHL
- Paris, Drew. (Rochester) AHL
- Pokoluk, Sasha. (Hershey) AHL/WSH
- Poulin, Kevin. (Bridgeport) AHL/NYI
