The Islanders look to exact revenge on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Nationwide. Columbus embarrassed New York 5-0 on opening night.

The Isles have little time to worry about last night’s 5-2 blow out to the Dallas Stars. Dallas outscored Anders Lee, 10-2 in the season series.

A positive stat for tonight is that they are 8-0-1 under Doug Weight following a loss of three or more goals. A negative one, the Blue Jackets have won three straight against the Isles in Columbus by a combined score of 18-2.

Thomas Greiss will get the start, his since allowing six goals against the Lightning in Tampa on December 5. Jaroslav Halak followed perhaps his best start of the season with a stinker, giving up four goals on 20 shots in just under 30 minutes last night.

While the first two lines of the Isles have been solid, the third line of Brock Nelson, Anthony Beauvillier and Josh Ho-Sang have yet to find consistency. Weight said following last night’s game that it’s starting to become an issue. Enter Alan Quine tonight, who will replace Beauvillier on the third line. With Shane Prince about a week away from returning from his conditioning stint in Bridgeport, expect Beauvillier or Ho-Sang to be sent down.

On the Blue Jackets side, center Brandon Dubinsky will miss six to eight weeks after suffering a broken orbital bone in his face during a fight with Zack Kassian in Tuesday’s 7-2 loss against the Edmonton Oilers.

Oh and the Islanders are not trading Nick Leddy. You can go on with your day now.
