The Islanders head to the All-Star break with a 25-15-6 record, good for third in the Metropolitan Division. The Isles (56 pts) are three points behind the second-place Rangers, who have played two more games. The Isles having played just 4 games in the last 12 games will be busy in the second half playing 35 games in 68 days.
There is a good chance defenseman Johnny Boychuk will be back to start the second half February 2nd vs the Minnesota Wild. Boychuk has been out since New Year's Eve when he suffered a shoulder injury against the Buffalo Sabres.
New York Post hockey writer Brett Cyrgalis joins Dan and myself on the latest Isles Buzz podcast. I also had the chance to talk with Ryan Pulock following Sound Tigers practice.
