The Islanders announced that they have agreed to terms with Linus Soderstrom on a three-year entry-level deal.

The 20-year-old was selected 95th overall in the 2014 draft. Soderstrom had a strong season for HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League. In 22 regular season games, Soderstrom went 18-4-0 with a 1.34 goal against average and a .943 save percentage. He led HV71 to the championship, posting a 12-4 record with a 2.11 GAA and .922 save pct in 16 postseason games.

The second goaltender selected by the Islanders in the 2014 draft was Ilya Sorokin, who is signed through next season in the KHL.
