The Islanders face the New Jersey Devils for the first time this season tonight. The Devils are one of two teams that the Islanders have yet to face. The other being the Nashville Predators.

The Isles will get to know the Devils very well over the next 24 hours. They face off at the Rock tonight and head to the Barclays Center tomorrow night. New York will get their first look at P.A. Parenteau this season. Parenteau was waived just prior to the start of the regular season. The chatter about Parenteau has died down of late as the former two-time Islanders has one goal in his last 17 games. Jason Chimera and Andrew Ladd have both passed Parenteau in goals (14-13).

These next two games are very critical for the Islanders. The Devils are four points back of the Isles, having played one more game. The Isles need these four points before embarking on a season-defining nine-game road trip, their longest in franchise history.

Thomas Greiss will get the start tonight and it is the same lineup as Thursday's win against the New York Rangers.
