The Islanders head to Philadelphia in what is the first of seven must-win games. Tuesday night was a bad night as Boston, Carolina and Toronto all won. The Islanders could not capitalize on the help they received last week as they let four points slip away against the Bruins and Nashville. They now trail the Bruins by four points for the final playoff spot and trail the Tampa Bay Lightning by one point for ninth place.

Interim head coach Doug Weight said the team is in dire need of a win tonight. You think.

The Bruins have six games left, five at home. The Islanders are on the road for five of their seven, which could be beneficial as they have a three-game road winning streak and lost five straight at Barclays.

The defense will get a boost as Johnny Boychuk returns tonight. Boychuk missed the last 12 games after taking a shot off his foot against Chicago Blackhawks back on March 3. Boychuk will replace Thomas Hickey.

Thomas Greiss will start and Jaroslav Halak will most likely start tomorrow against the New Jersey Devils.

Ryan Pulock had an assist for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in their win against Springfield last night. The Sound Tigers are also battling for the a spot in the playoffs. I got nothing else on Pulock. What's the point anymore.

Pulock's teammate, Tanner Fritz has agreed to a two-way entry-level contract that takes effect next season. The 25-year-old has 19 goals and 41 points for the Sound Tigers this season. It's a well-earned deal.
