Marlies Cut Seven From Roster

The Toronto Marlies have announced seven cuts today. Forwards Sam Carrick, Tyler Brenner and Andrew Crescenzi have been sent to the organization's new ECHL affiliate, the Fort Wayne(Indiana) Komets, while training camp invitees Andrew Engelage, Adam Hughesman, Corey Syvret and Ryan Grimshaw have been released.

The 20 year old Carrick, Toronto’s fifth round pick(144th overall) in 2010,netted 37 goals and 30 assists for the OHL’s Brampton Battalion last season and scored a goal in last night’s 2-0 pre-season victory over Hamilton.

The 24 year old Brenner was a free agent signing after playing three years at the Rochester Institute of Technology and scored four goals and eight assists in 41 games last season between the AHL and ECHL.

The 20 year old Crescenzi was an undrafted free agent signed in 2010 and tallied 24 goals and 23 assists in his final year with the Kitchener Rangers.

Toronto begins their AHL regular season schedule with two home games at Ricoh Coliseum. The home opener is a 5pm start on Saturday against the Rochester Americans and the second game is a 3pm start against the Lake Erie Monsters.
