Hartnell to Kings Heating Up

Given that Lombardi just dealt for Smyth and a 6.25 cap hit, it seems unlikely that he would make a deal for another player.

But after Lombardi admitted to Hammond the other day that he was indeed looking to acquire the gritty winger, I got word from a very well placed source that has told me that the Kings are still trying to acquire him.

Cap hit wise Hartnell is at 4.2 but salary wise, his next 4 years are intriguing: 4.2, 4.2, 3.7 and 3.2. For a 27 year old, that's just too delicious to pass up.

Lombardi isn't going to get anywhere near those kind of numbers trying to re-sign Frolov.

And even though I've been insisting Jack Johnson is staying put, his name keeps coming up. I can't even imagine how sick Philadelphia fans would be at the thought of Pronger, Johnson, Timonen and Coburn - Talk about two lines that can shut down Crosby and Ovechkin!

Philadelphia needs cap space and either Hartnell or Gagne or less likely, Briere will be moves.

As a Kings fan, I hope Scotty waives his no trade clause.
