The Sabres have now gone a year without Paul Gaustad.
It's been that long already. A year ago from today, the Sabres sent Gaustad to Nashville for a pick. The Sabres also sent Kassian and Gragnani to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Cody Hodgson and Alexander Sulzer.
“Long-term, it’ll turn out to be a good day,” said Regier.
While it's only been a year, let's take a look and see what those players have done. Here are their stats since the trades:
While all of these players are not best known for scoring points, the Sabres have been winning in that category, getting 37 points from Hodgson and Sulzer, while the other three have 21.
Gragnani is now with the Hurricanes organization, but has only played one game for Carolina this season.
Of course it's only been a year. Who knows the amount of success these players will have, but as of right now, it seems like it has been working out for the Sabres.
