The Sabres have signed Drew MacIntyre to a one year deal and he is expected to fight for the backup role along with Jhonas Enroth.

His numbers are better than Enroth's, but I think Jhonas will be the one with the Sabres this season.

"MacIntyre (6/24/1983, 6’0”, 184 lbs.) split time in the AHL between the Chicago Wolves and the Hamilton Bulldogs last season. MacIntyre appeared in 41 total games, collecting a record of 24-11-3 with a 2.37 GAA. He also went 11-9 with a 1.95 GAA in 20 playoff games, backstopping the Bulldogs to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals of the Calder Cup playoffs."

It is a good signing, but I'm wondering if the Sabres are now looking to use one of these goaltenders as trade bait.

Both goaltenders have drawn interest from NHL teams, but as good as MacIntyre's stats are, I would hate to see Enroth go. Enroth is a restricted free agent, but has not been signed.

What do you think of the goaltending situation now?

Derek Whitmore and Colin Stuart also signed one-year deals.
