The Carolina Hurricanes announced today that Kirk Muller has been fired along with assistants Dave Lewis and John MacLean. Rod Brind'amour will remain on the coaching staff. “We thank Kirk, John and Dave for their time and effort during the past three seasons,” said Francis. “Kirk and his staff worked very hard, but we feel that the team is in need of a fresh start at this time.”

Right now their are 5 NHL Coaching vacancies. Carolina, Washington, Nashville, Vancouver, and Florida. You gotta thing Barry Trotz is at the top of everyone's list, except obviously Nashville. In Nashville, Phil Housley will likely be the Coach. It's going to be a fun Summer.

For those scoring at home Muller becomes the 34 coach axed in a little over 3 years.
