Just heard from my top source that the Hawks and the Ducks are in a struggle to close a deal for Vancouver center Ryan Kesler. The Ducks have the better offer (in Vancouver's eyes) with a range of first round picks, but the Hawks have the prospects that Vancouver would prefer.

Right now, I'm told, Vancouver wants the Hawks to include 2012 first round pick Teuvo Teravainen in the deal. And the Hawks are not budging. But, the two teams are talking and the Hawks are getting closer to getting a deal done.

This, as of 3PM Eastern.

I also heard this afternoon that Patrick Sharp is very much in play and is "likely" to be traded by the draft.

And the Hawks are possibly going to try to trade for the rights to Toronto F Jay McClement.

More as I have it.
