Well, you can mark obtaining backup goaltender of the summer checklist of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Bolts and Peter Budaj have come to an agreement on an extension that will pay the netminder $2.05M over the next two seasons.

Due to the current roster freeze, this technically is not a done-deal although both sides have agreed to terms.

Budaj played seven games with the Lightning after being acquired from the Los Angeles Kings in the Ben Bishop trade. Staying with Tampa Bay for the next two seasons is a situation that truly benefits both sides. Budaj will get the opportunity to play for a Stanley Cup contender while the Bolts get a veteran backup that can help mentor Andrei Vasilevskiy.
