Summary:

If the front office was using tonight’s performance as a tipping point for buy, sell or hold, sell could well have won the day. Though Detroit held the lead (briefly) twice in the first, they were clearly outmatched physically, in team play and just facing a well oiled machine. A string of penalties didn’t help, but this was a clear view at how Detroit is lacking in having physical skilled players. A clear sign that the rebuild has brought them further this season than any other in Yzerman’s tenure, but there is work to be done.

The losing streak is at 3. So, as most of you have been in the camp of hold and see how Detroit reacts for the rest of the year, does tonight’s performance change that? Let me know your thoughts as it’s looking more and more like Friday is going to be a quiet deadline. The deals are wrapping up.

A big thank you to Stargate SG1 who sent the following as the return to Calgary for Hanifin:

Daniil Miromanov
First-round draft pick
Conditional third-round draft pick

Update courtesy of HenryHockey:

Call underway. Vegas acquires Hanifin from Calgary for a 1st round pick,
Miromanov and a Conditional 3rd, upgrades to a 2nd if VGK win a playoff round. Double salary retention. Hearing Philadelphia is the broker.
