NHL Rumors has pinned a trade tracker. Not every deal that’s been announced is on there because I think they’re waiting for the filing to be “official” while the insider circuit will text/call in the deal once they know about it. (I’m not on that network, hence I still have thumbs that work).

This is a link to the waiver wire that has Tony DeAngelo as the top listed name. You can check it for updates as well. Some of this is likely part of making space for deals.

“But there was no sound in Motown, mighty Casey has, well, not gone to the plate yet”. It is so quiet around the Red Wings and that is the status quo for Yzerman’s group. No clue if anything gets done so I’m waiting along with the rest of you. With the amount of activity this week tomorrow may be a 2 cup of coffee deadline day.

After last night’s loss, there are a few more dissenting fan voices in terms of moving on, but it feels like (at least here) most of you are still in favor of holding unless something that helps the future drops in Yzerman’s lap. Don’t do a fire sale, but don’t ignore every offer either. That seems to be a fairly even keeled manor of looking at it. Continue to let me know your thoughts.

Ok, the following content is specifically for people using VPN service to be able to have a single platform for the games.

I’ve mentioned this a few times, but there is a Tik Tok bill in Congress that just got a whole lost more attention. There’s a big push to remove Tik Tok from American Users by removing the App from the Apple Store, Google play and would make sale and support to US Residents illegal. There isn’t a lot of pushback for a ban on Tik Tok from many of you. I don’t use it, there are reported instances of very bad things. However, if the VPN ban is still associated with this push I am very much against that. Not for watching games but there are people who use VPNs for security reasons, etc.

I can only question why on earth VPN was ever brought into the discussion on this, then it hit me. Streaming revenues have been down since the end of the lockdown. When people were stuck inside streaming hit its apex. The market shift hasn’t stopped ESPN and potentially CNN (though they had a failed app before) from looking at going exclusively to streaming. It’s all to do with the revenues. When you pay for cable, a portion of that payment goes to the different stations. one may get $5 per month per subscriber, one may get $1, some get a bit more. Cord cutting is very real. Those subscriber dollars are going and taking ads with them. That’s the only reason I can think of.

Just keep an eye on this and see if the push continues. It just picked up steam today. The streaming networks need subscriber fees higher or an ad tier with a much higher volume of viewers. That’s it for now, but it is a fairly sizeable push.
