Same story, new day. Wings look to snap the skid

The plot hasn’t changed, and neither has goal. Find a way to win a game. Buffalo was more than ready to extend Detroit’s losing streak just a few days ago, and so far there isn’t an answer presenting itself. Detroit needs the net to be locked down, the defense to play, well, defense. The offensive structure has to minimize risk and stop finding themselves with a player behind them in the neutral zone. What is left to say at this point?

Instead of droning on, I’d like to hear from you. Build some lines. JV isn’t best served up top. Compher didn’t have a great run but may still be the best option for Kane and Debrincat. Let me know your thoughts, who has chemistry you don’t want to interfere with and who you want to see be a little more fluid in their deployment.

Not to get too deep in the weeds but I do want to take a minute to thank each and every one of you. Things have been crazy these past few years and every entry is its own blessing. To be able to be part of Hockeybuzz and a place where several of you stop by to say hello or share some insight is something I’ll always be grateful for. A quick personal note, the “setback” on the head injury isn’t clearing up like normal. I’ve been waiting about a month for some “magic glasses” (prescription amber lenses). We’re hoping that tightens things up. Regardless, I’m grateful for all of you. Thanks to those who reach out and for all of your time. That investment is a blessing.

We all want to enjoy the last part of this season. It has been special. Of course we’d like to see Larkin back in the lineup but regardless of personnel some good forward motion has been made. This has been a special year for Yzerman’s tenure and I hope we’ll be able to sit back and remember the fun of it when all is said and done. For now, it’s another tilt against the Sabres and Detroit better have the Bleu Cheese ready!
