Summary:

When Kane’s goal gave Detroit the lead in the second, the arena was still holding its breath. Sprong’s tally in the third let the dog off the leash and the crowd was given hope that a much needed win was on the way. Raymond’s empty netter was the exclamation point the team and the fans needed.

Reimer kept this game alive. Buffalo has size, confidence, goaltending and confidence. The apprehension of the fans in general was well understood. The Sabres have just been rolling, and Detroit had to find confidence and saves in net helped give them that. The Fischer goal was a no quit play. Kane’s goal was the result of a diving pass. Sprong ripped a beauty and even Raymond’s empty netter had some nice moves attached to it.

The team has no time to breathe with a game against Pittsburgh tomorrow but they have something right now that hasn’t been there. The confidence has started to come back and the players are standing a little taller. Enjoy this one fans.

I won’t do a pregame write up for Pittsburgh so you can have some fun in the comments with this one. (You can thank HenryHockey for that). The wild ride to the end still has some gas in the tank. The Wings just need to keep going now as the Isles lost in overtime so Detroit is back in the wild card pic but NYI has a game in hand. Let me know what you liked and what you hope to see tomorrow.
