It looks like Carter Hutton will get his third consecutive start as reports were that he was in the starters net at the morning skate.

As some of us thought, Brad Hunt was claimed on waivers and will be moving on to the Nashville Predators. Hunt was a victim of the numbers game.

I hope to be able to post a game day preview and some more information later but work beckons.

The Blues shot down the Ducks 2-1 on in overtime on a pair of Berglund goals. The team got another strong outing from Carter Hutton, leading to Hutton getting the start tonight against the Senators. Hutton has a 90% save percentage and 2.92 goals against average versus the Senators.

The rest of the lineup will likely stay the same and look like this:
Schwartz – Stastny – Steen
Yakupov – Lehtera - Tarasenko (looking forward to seeing this one)
Fabbri – Berglund – Perron
Jaskin – Brodziak – Reaves
Pietrangelo - Parayko
Bouwmeester – Shattenkirk
Edmundson – Bortuzzo
Hutton

The Senators are a respectable 9-8 on the road this season though they have lost two road games in a row. The Sens are playing the first game of a three game road trip.

The Senators range from 11th to 22nd in goals against per game, goals per game, penalty kill and power play. They do have the 7th best shooting percentage on the road.

Erik Karlsson leads the team with 35 points in 41 games. Kyle Turris leads the team in goals with 15 in 41 games. Noted Blues killer Bobby Ryan has a two game point streak coming into tonight. Against the Blues, Ryan has 17 goals and 31 points in only 24 games. Derick Brassard also has enjoyed some success against the Blues with 21 points in 26 games.

The Senators will be starting Mike Condon in net as Craig Anderson is with his wife Nicholle who is battling cancer. Count me among the group wishing Nicholle well and wanting her to kick cancer. Condon only has one start against the Blues, stopping 81.8% of the shots faced and losing in extra time.

Jaden Schwartz has enjoyed playing the Senators so far, posting 6 points in only 4 games. Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk and Paul Stastny all have 6 points in 8 games versus the Senators. Patrik Berglund has 5 goals in his last 7 games including two game winning goals.

No time for more. Sorry.

It’s a great day for hockey.

Fellow Hockeybuzz bloggers Nashville Predator's Paul McCann, Winnipeg Jet's Peter Tessier and Minnesota Wild's Dan Wallace have generously agreed to a friendly charity wager. We were hoping to do the whole division but don't have it fully represented yet. The blogger whose team finishes the highest the standings at the end of the year gets to pick a charity to whom the others donate in their name.
