In the last blog,
here, I talked about the top 30 starter list put forth by Yahoo! sports writer Sam McCaig. Quick was ranked first on that list and Lundqvist second.
What ensued in the comment section was a back and forth over who really was the best starting goaltender in the league. Now they are both fantastic goaltenders, I don’t think there is any argument there, but let’s take this a step further.
I’m the kind of person who always loves a good, civil and well informed discussion. So let’s get a little more educated on these two fantastic netminders before laying down the be all end all for you readers: A poll. I’m only going to go back a few years here because the relevant argument pertains to who is the best goaltender NOW, not EVER. There is a considerable difference.
And by all means, feel free to chime in even if you are a fan of neither team or goaltender. There will be an ‘other’ option.

Okay, whew are you still with me? I think that covers a lot of ground. You’ve got statistics from the last three years of both player and team relevant stats, as well as divisional strength overall.
I’m staying out of this one. As for everyone else. Have at it.
