The last real piece of summer business was finally accomplished for the Senators yesterday as Cody Ceci signed a 2 year bridge deal worth $5.6M.

And in the interest of looking ahead to his next deal, the years are worth $2,25 in the first and $3.35 in the second, which ups his qualifying offer as he will be looking to cash in on the next contract.

Those are very fair numbers for the present, and will give Ceci 2 years to solidify who he will become going forward so that he and the Senators can figure out his real long-term value.

So far, so good for Pierre Dorion in terms of keeping the right pieces in the fold at good values. Even if each one took a little longer than most would have liked, there were no impasses big enough to miss any portions of workouts or training camps.
