The Coyotes return to their former home to face the Winnipeg Jets tonight in the last game before the Jets fire head coach Paul Maurice.
Just kidding, I have been assured by Jet's writer Peter Tessier that the Jets will not make a mid-season coaching change.
The Jets have a great roster and a horribly disappointing record and punting on the Playoffs seems pretty radical just to maintain loyalty to Paul Maurice. The Jets have a bad PP, a bad PK and are not getting very good goaltending. To my mind, those are all things that point to coaching.
So bad has it been that they recalled Ondrej Pavalec to start tonight. This move seems completely desperate. Hopefully the Coyotes can take advantage.
One kind of hilarious thing is that Alex Burmistrov -- it took him forever to get out of Winnipeg, and as soon as he does, they bring him back!
The Coyotes are in the basement of their division by 16 points and will almost assuredly give more power-play ice-time to Shane Doan and Radem Vbrata than Anthony Duclair or Brandon Perlini.
That's all I got for a game-preview, but check this cat shred the Keytar:
