Coyotes Play Senators in Afternoon Delight

The Arizona Coyotes are a three win team! But man, most of those wins have come lately and the team is getting healthier and I think the rest of the season is going to be spent surprising a lot of teams.

The Coyotes just aren't even close to as bad as their record would indicate.

Nick Hjalmarsson is, according to the coach, one week or less away. He won't play today, but he might play in Toronto on Monday.

Chychrun also won't play today, and he definitely won't play Monday either, but he's very close to coming back.

Once that happens, the Coyotes will be dressing their optimal lineup for the first time this season. They will also have a blue-line where Alex Goligoski will be their fifth best player. That's not too bad at all. And as much as people don't like Luke Schenn, he's miles better than most teams have for their sixth defenseman.

(On a side note, I wonder if anyone wishes it was the 90s more than Luke Schenn? Had he played back then, he'd probably have been a stay-at-home superstar like Adam Foote and maybe even have gotten Team Canada consideration. )

The Coyotes enter today's game on a season high one game winning streak. The Senators will look to avoid their second straight. But I think the Coyotes are going to take this one easily.

Also, huge shoutout to the NHL schedule maker who had a great day today. Games start today at 1,2,3,4,7,8 and 10 PM. That is how you do a Saturday. None of this 'no games till 7 PM and then there's 12 of them BS."

So pull up a seat on the couch (or, if you're 100, the chesterfield/sofa) and enjoy as the Coyotes begin their climb back to respectability.
