In this edition of the hotstove we rank the top-5 wingers in the NHL age 21 and under.

Todd Cordell

1. Filip Forsberg - He turns 22 on Saturday but he is 21 at the time of writing this so he's No. 1. Big time goal scorer, point producer and he drives possession.

2. Jonathan Drouin - He took off in the playoffs and showed what he is capable of while playing a big role. I'm expecting him to take off in 2016-17.

3. David Pastrnak - Has managed 53 points in his first 97 games and been very productive at 5 v 5. With more minutes I think he'll break out in a big way.

4. Nik Ehlers - The highly skilled winger had a strong rookie campaign playing for a disappointing Winnipeg squad.

5. Andre Burakovsky - He was quiet in the playoffs but had a very good regular season. Wouldn't be surprised to see 45-50+ points from him this season.

Peter Tessier

This one is bound to be a bit more controversial than centres as looking at last season it appears the depth is not as good as the centre position.

#5 Nikolaj Ehlers. As a 19 year old rookie he came in on a pretty bad team from start to finish and put up 15 goals and 23 assists and was on the top line at end of season

#4 Valeri Nichushki. While some may say he's better than Ehlers he also just had his third season in the NHL and a better cast around him.

#3 Max Domi. Kid has mad skills and put up 52 points in a rookie season and looks so so good for the future.

#2 Anthony Duclair. Domi Duclair, Duclair Domi. Potato Potaaato. I just like Duclair more and therefore he's my #2 but I could be wrong.

#1 Filip Forsberg. To think that it cost Martin Erat to get him. Kid is a sniper and should be for some time. Best of the bunch.

Honourable mentions Burakovsky, Pastrnak,
