We are thirteen days away from the shotgun start of the Jimmy Vesey Scramble. Upwards of eight NHL teams, including the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins will continue their aggressive pursuit of the unrestricted free agent to be. The former Harvard scoring power forward star will become UFA on August 15.

If Vesey signs with the Sabres, the team that traded for his exclusive negotiating rights in June, then the dynamic forward will be facing his boyhood favorite team in a prospects challenge hosted by the Sabres.

If Vesey chooses his hometown Bruins, there will be more than a few disappointed onlookers in the gallery.

If Vesey signs with Chicago or Toronto the event will still he a worthwhile affair.

The Sabres will once again host the Prospects Challenge, from September 16 to 19 at HarborCenter.

In 2015, Buffalo fans got a solud glimpse at top prospects Jack Eichel and Samson Reinhart plsying alongside one another for the first time. The Dynamic Duo did not disappoint. Justin Bailey, Jake McCabe, Brendan Guhle, Nick Baptiste and Evan Rodrigues were also impressive in their performances.

Bruins notables included Frank Vatrano, Jakub Zboril, Jake DeBrusk, and Zach Senyshyn.

Joe Blandisi and MacKenzie Blackwood were standouts for the Devils.

Thanks, Sabres TV
