Good news out of Pegulaville.

Turns out, Jordan Leopold will not need to have surgery to correct his broken hand injury.

The word now is that Leopold will be lost for four weeks, retroactive to the date that he first broke his finger, March 25.

Should the Sabres make it to a Game 6 or 7, Leopold would be able to return to help his team.

Coach Ruff will have an optional gameday skate this morning inside HSBC Arena.

On his weekly WGR radio show, Ruff said that he fully expects his starting goaltender, Ryan Miller, to participate fully in all drills. Ruff expects 10-12 players to put Miller through the usual paces.

Jhonas Enroth will start his fourth straight game against Stamkos, Lecavalier, St. Louis, and the Bolts.

Ruff said that he does not expect Jordan Leopold to participate in the first round of the Playoffs. Leopold suffered a busted digit and has not been able to have it surgically repaired due to a sicness that unfortunately turned into pneumonia.

Ruff thinks that Pat Kaleta will be ready to go full blast on Friday and Saturday.

Mike Grier has a nagging knee that has been hampering his return to the lineup.

Jochen Hecht has a long term issue (head?) and will not be available this week.

Derek Roy continues to skate on his own. If the Sabres were to make the second round of the Playoffs, Roy may be able to make a return.

Good on Mr. Pegula for picking up the cost of airfare and hotels for 75 Sabres Alumni who will attend Friday night's red carpet gala. I'm so looking forward to seeing my heroes from the past back in Buffalo again!
