Quick update this morning prior to the podcast with a full Rumor Chart revamp coming later this evening...

The other name that keeps popping up today is that of Christian Ehrhoff. Ehrhoff faced several injury issues last year, but if he is healthy he is a power play D-man who could become a force for a team.

The Devils have been poking around I am told about a two year deal, and the Jackets and Bruins are both willing to give him a one year it appears...if he comes down in price.

One thing is for certain, the UFA period this year will stretch all summer. There are a ton of players out there who can help a team, but teams need to make space to get them.. Many players are in a holding pattern and quite a few are looking at tryouts...

On Arbitration...

Arbitration hearings begin today and more so than ever before we could see a few teams walking away from rulings. The Salary Cap is just crushing some players. Arbitration isn't quite the perk the NHLPA bargained for. If players walk from rulings they are not likely to find that money elsewhere....Del Zotto signing for under $4M per over two years is a great example. He may have gotten less from arbitration, but the Flyers would have walked away almost certainly.

Teams are letting that be known I am told and there is a bigger tension than ever before on agent/GM relations.

I am back today for the HockeyBuzzcast...Live at 1pm
