Here are some quick hits for Day 2 of the season.

I fully believe Bob Gainey when he says that the there is no market at the current for Sergei Kostitsyn but there are teams that are absolutely considering the Russian. Nashville, who lost out on Kessel and Los Angeles are the two top teams according to those I have spoken to over the last few days. Both have the right young defensemen that the Habs are rumored to be asking for.

The New Jersey Devils are rumored to be picking up their search for a center and those rumors only intensified over night. The names circulating are Patrick Sharp and Frolov.

The Devils Brendan Shanahan decided he would not play for the Devils yesterday but there is reportedly another Atlantic Division team that has interest and may be awaiting Shanny's decision.

The Senators are also still in the market for some defensive help. They are rumored to be talking to Tampa and Nashville as well...
