In a rumor that can only be described as "A rumor that only a rumor reporter could love..." Word out of the NHL offices is that Toronto and Montreal are among the top two teams pushing hardest for Shattenkirk...
"The Blues are going to move him. They need offense and they have the depth right now on the blue line. They have to put future resources there..."
Montreal and Toronto are of course in stealth mode on this one, but one source did confirm to me that the Blues had asked about JvR and Kadri.
"The JvR beginning point is a non-starter right now, and Kadri has shown his growth finally this year...but Kadri is much more possible..."
As for Montreal...the NHL source added, "Had they not gotten hit so hard up the middle there looked to be an outline of a deal to be done back in early November...that has changed a bit as the Canadiens shift to filling in their offense with an Iginla and a Doan."
