Hearing from a source that the Vegas team is strongly considering the "Mountain Bluebird" to be their name. The Mountain Bluebird is the Nevada State Bird and I like this concept. No gambling references and another team named after an animal...which is something I am a fan of more than conceptual names (looking at you Wild) or teams named after natural disasters...
Secretly I have been pulling for "the Roadrunners" but Tucson, the new AHL affiliate for the Coyotes, has re-kindled the Roadrunner name (a name once worn by the Great One I believe).
The Coyotes choosing the roadrunner as their mascot do become the first ever Predator/Prey NHL franchise tandem.....
