Talking to sources this morning there is a strong indication that the Canucks are leading the way in the Mats derby, followed closely by NY, then Montreal, then Chicago and Philly...Should the Canucks land Sundin I will have some great stories for you about how hard they worked to do so.

There is little doubt that all five teams still believe they are in it.

Also I am still intrigued by the information given to me two days ago that Mats wants to play in a city where there is no "Media Circus."

This morning I am going to be at Bill Clement's as we work on Hockeybuzz TV, that will be launching in January. Exciting stuff!

Chasing Today....


1. The Edmonton Oilers. Something is definitely up as I continue to hear rumours of a MAJOR deal between the Oilers and Rangers. I always just assumed this deal was tied to Sundin, but it appears that there are two deals being discussed: "One that would occur should the Rangers sign Mats, and one that would occur if they don't."

2. The Blackhawks situation

3. A rumoured deal that would send a major player to the Maple Leafs in early January from the Western Conference.
