Shanahan to the Penguins(E4) ...Plus Sundin to Habs or Leafs, Part 536

Word continues to be that Shanahan wants to stay in the Northeast, and I do believe we will see Shanny with a home by next Sunday.

Several schools of though out there, and while the Northeast teams do have cap issues, Brendan isn't about the money. Shanahan is not on the NY Rangers right now for reasons that have zero to do with money, and 100% to do with the team direction.

The Penguins are lacking a little something right now. Essentially it is what went away with Gary Roberts. Experienced leaders for the young players to look up to. The power play is good, but come playoff time, will it be great? Shanny is PERFECT for this situation, and according to my sources he is CLOSE to becoming a Penguin.

I will remain on top of it throughout the day.

On Sundin, comes this quote from a source...

"Mats is hungry to win a Cup. Plain and simple. That alone has driven him to getting into phenomenal shape through his workouts. He is telling everyone that two teams are impressing him. Montreal and Toronto, but of course the Cup is not likely going to end up in Toronto."

When I asked for a time frame I was told, "Within 2 weeks Mats will be skating with the team."

So there you go...just another twist along the way...

The Hockeybuzzcast Podcast Returns tomorrow with a very special guest: GM of the Anaheim Ducks, Brian Burke. Hard not to be impressed with the Ducks right now. They have that fire, and I have such admiration for Brian Burke, who is one of the classiest people in the game today. Truly as good of a person as he is a hockey guy.

So you can catch that here tomorrow from 4pm to 5 pm ET.

enjoy the day!
