Quick Hit, Price Needs to be This Good, the Mighty Leafs, Fabian on Waivers

On Fabian...

Remember when Fabian Brunnstrom was on his tour to get signed in the NHL? Well, now he is available for all, and while I don't expect him to get picked up on waivers today, there are some who are telling me there is a great chance he could be grabbed on re-entry.

On Toronto...

Meanwhile in Toronto, the Leafs are 4-0 and finding ways to win games...Last night was a great example of the kind of game they have lost in years past. Blowing a lead, their confidence could have easily taken a hit, but instead they prevailed in Overtime.

Getting off to a start like this one can't be overplayed. This is definitely huge.

On Price...

He has really stepped it up big time so far. They say the issue in Montreal isn't the goaltending because the team has trouble scoring. Unfortunately, when a team has trouble scoring the focus shifts purely to the Goaltending. There is no room for error...that was the case in last year's playoff run, and is definitely the case now...

On Quick...

There was a ton made this sumer about how the LA Kings were very upset with Jonathan Quick not showing up for the playoffs last year. This was not just a rumor. This was the case. People on the team who I talked to repeatedly told me how he didn't compete against the Canucks, and was almost cavalier about it all. They were upset with his attitude.

Well last night, and so far this season Quick is on a mission. If the Kings had seen the kind of goaltending they got from him last night against the Canucks, there is little doubt the Kings would have advanced in the playoffs...

More to come today, including a rumour update this afternoon prior to the Penguins and Flyers at 6 ET.
