It was with a trade late Monday night that the Flyers got their goalie in Detroit's Petr Mrazek.

Once looking like the Red Wings' starter of the future, the 26-year-old has posted an 8-7-3 record with a .910 save percentage and three shutouts in 18 starts as Detroit's backup this season.

Acquired in exchange for a conditional third-round pick (2019) and conditional fourth-round pick (2018), Mrazek's move to Philly was made with Flyers general manager Ron Hextall's hope that Mrazek can help keep the club afloat within the Metropolitan playoff bracket during starter Brian Elliott's absence.

According to TSN, if Philadelphia makes playoffs and Mrazek wins five games in the regular season, the fourth-round pick becomes a third-round choice. And if the Flyers advance to Eastern Conference Finals with Mrazek winning six playoff games, the third then becomes a second.

If Philly re-signs Mrazek next season, Detroit will get Philly's third-round pick in 2019.

The Red Wings will retain 50 percent of Mrazek's salary.
