10:03 pm: If you don't follow Art Staple on Twitter you will miss out on hearing the Isles news as soon as it happens.

#Isles hoping to sign D Brenden Kichton, 2011 5th-rounder who impressed at last year's camp. 40-117-157 last two seasons w/ Spokane (WHL).

Remember I mentioned him yesterday? 71 games, 74 points and a +21 rating. Was sidlined in Spokane's playoffs due to injury, but looks like he's well enough to impress the Isles.

Also, as no surprise to me (or anyone else that followed along) P.A. Parenteau is set to be a free agent on July 1st. Confirmed by his agent VIA TWITTER.

4:30 pm: And just as I was about to hit submit, we lost power and I lost the entry. UGHGGGH!!

Let's try again.

According to Newsday's Art Staple the Islanders will make a serious offer to Justin Schultz. Who knows if he'll accept it, but they'll offer. (No word they'll make an offer to Zach though.)

Islanders mini-camp is in full swing and Blog Boxer Christian Arnold was there today. Follow his twitter feed for photos and info and look for his recap coming soon.

Ryan Strome took over the Isles Twitter feed for awhile and answered all sorts of fan questions. He has a great sense of humor. Check up on it on the Islanders Twitter feed.

With Training Camp starting on September 21st this year (not too far off now is it?) The Isles released their pre-season schedule today. Once again they will be playing split squad games on two dates. They will start by playing the Oilers on 9/27 in two separate arenas in Canada (Edmonton and Regina.) On Sat. Sept 29, the Isles will be in Jersey to face the Devils with a single squad. Back on the road and splitting like an omeba the Isles will head in two directions in Ontario on 9/30 to take on the Senators.

On October 2nd, the Isles play the first hockey game in the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. Check out the logo which is very cool. I'm a sucker for the Brooklyn Bridge having lived there during some formative years.

Preseaon concludes on 10/4 with the Isles playing the Rangers in Uniondale while the Garden is still being renovated. (hey, it takes a long time for the Dolans to spend a BILLION dollars on renovations!)

Well, we have something to look forward to and July 1st should be interesting as well. I gotta hit submit quickly before we lose power again!

Lastly, the CBJ thing. Suppose the entire conversation sort of went down with the Isles saying they'd like to trade up and made an offer of the 4th and their second rounder. Maybe they then made the offer of the 4th, a 2nd rounder and one of the current prospects. Maybe knowing the offers weren't going anywhere they decided to just throw something out there that they had no chance of doing, just to see the Jackets flinch?

"So, if I gave you ALL our picks for this year, you'd still say no?"

What if that's what happened.

Not that I know. But it's a thought. It could be twisted.
