WOW! Check out the commercial for tonight!

With not too much going on yesterday, as I was leaving the office late last night I noticed there was a new RDP rumor.

Of course there is. It was even picked up by DeadSpin. I found that odd since there was no mention of scantily clad women or sexual conduct. I thought that was the criteria to be picked up by DeadSpin. (Don't get in my face for that comment. I wrote for DeadSpin years ago.)

So okay, so a very well-known personality that likes to pat himself on the back every chance he gets put out the offering that RDP is considering retiring and that his "agent" was talking with "the insurance company."

Fans then blasted back that RDP doesn't have an agent. (I don't know if that's true or not. I sort of thought his Dad was his agent.) And then why would an agent talk to an insurance company. No idea.

BUT.... I will say this...

The contract that was signed on September 1st, 2006 is supposedly insured in rolling five year increments. What year are we in??? Yep.

So. In all honesty, If there is a real problem with RDPs health (and I hope there isn't because the guy really works hard.) then the idea of trying to retire at this point may not be a rediculous scenario.

At this moment, I am more concerned with the status of one Al Montoya. HOW IS HE??? When is he coming BACK?

Mike Mottau's "upper body injury" could be a concussion according to Art Staple and Calvin deHaan will represent the Sound Tigers at the AHL All Star game. I remember in 2004 when there was no NHL hockey and the AHL All Star game was on TV and Sean Bergenheim represented the Sound Tigers. Good luck to Calvin.

On Friday the NY Islanders will face the Anaheim Ducks and an old friend -- Jason Blake. Jason returned to game action last night after having his tendon slashed by a skate in a freak accident in early October.

I'm glad he'll be able to play against his old team. That does mean he'll score. He always does.

PS: SOMEONE BRING ME BACK A JERSEY FROM ANAHEIM!! THANKS.

More later.
