1:40 pm: And as I expected, the team is at the airport awaiting take off. Grabner Tweeted his excitement for the first road trip and some #roomservice while Moulson is looking for better weather.

Pretty sure RDP is just looking to put on his pads.

12:26 pm: Jack Capuano says all three goalies are going to FLA. Expect to see RDP at least on a bench. But I can't imagine him not starting a game if he's going. Let's see... Flip a coin... Tampa? Sunrise? Who should he face? Marty St. Louis who loves to score goals on him or Sean Bergenheim who now likes to play against the team that drafted him as if his skates are on fire?

12:16 pm: Well isn't this rich? Just announced the AHL has suspended Michael Haley for 2 games (not surprised) and Matt Donovan (really surprised!) for one game for their match penalties from Sunday's Bridgeport Sound Tigers game against the Phantoms in a 1 - 5 ST Loss. (Color me shocked at Donovan.)

Rick DiPietro practiced today with the team. as of 12:19, no word on whether he is making the trip to FLA. I'm thinking he does. Lines from practice were what tey should be with Comeau with Rolston and Bailey. Pandolfo-Reasoner - Martin, Gillies were the fourth.

8:30 am: The Isles will practice at 11 am today at the Coliseum before boarding their flight to Florida for their first road trip of th 2011 - 2012 season. It's a short one. Florida is a hop, skip and a jump so there's no jet lag there.

Did you know the NHL requires teams to show up at least the day before the game and that's why even though there are short flights, they leave the day before.

I wonder if the first trip is like going on vacation. "Did I pack everything?" Is there an excitement of the travel and not just the game?

Certainly the excitement over facing Tampa Bay AGAIN tomorrow followed by the Panthers on Saturday probably isn't as great as if it were a team they hadn't already faced this season.

I'm pretty sure they want to make sure that the Panthers game Saturday isn't anything like the Isles home opener. No, no. Maybe more like the one they played against the Lightning when they chased Roloson from the net. Can they repeat that in the St. Pete Times Forum. (the one that just received a fabulous renovation?) Let's hope so.

Did you catch Matt Moulson Live on "ON THE SPOT"? Pretty funny stuff as usual.

What did we learn? Moulson plays the alto sax. Yep. He's musical as well. He's also a movie buff and loves comedies. Lately he rooms with Kyle Okposo because they both love movies.

According to Matt, Doug Weight is the funniest man on the team and Mark Eaton knows every word to every song. Who knew.

Okay. Question looming is will RDP make the trip? That should be answered today after practice. Next Question? When the hell will Nino play? Also, hoping for an answer today. Milan Jurcina is still day-to-day. Are you surprised? I'm not.

Hey, look. It's 8:16 am. Guess who is late for work again? Yep. That's right.
