7:51 pm: John Tavares talking to Peter Ruttgaizer said that as disappointing as it is, they have to learn from it and move on and string some wins together. He said they haven't been able to capitalize on their opportunies.

Travis Hamonic said it is frustrating. They had a good start and had a good 1st period, but the game was lost in the 2nd period. They played well in the third, but couldn't catch up.

Peter really has to stop asking such dumb ass questions. Why not just phrase it "So Travis, why did you guys screw up out there tonight?"

Pat Flatley discussed how stressful trade day is for those players with wives and kids. Mark Eaton could be one that moves -- if someone wants him. He is a good shot blocker.

He wasn't happy when Peter phrased a question about the success of the road trip keeping them in the playoff hunt. While I completely understand where Peter is coming from, you can't phrase a question like that to a hockey player ON CAMERA. You can't. That know they won't say what they want and they feel like you are putting them on the spot looking for them to say something against their team mates. It won't happen. What he is doing is losing the respect of the players.

That being said, Dear MSG: GET PETER RUTTGAIZER OFF THE ISLES TELECAST!!! THANK YOU

7:34 pm: Bad decisions, break-aways and the failure of the PK all contributed to another Islander loss. As Jack said, he can't play his top line 24 minutes a night in order to win. He needs better judgement from his other lines.

He likes what he sees from Casey Cizikas and David Ullstrom and mentioned Reasoner for failure of an opportunity. Will Reasoner be on waivers by 11 pm? LOL

So what's happened to the PK? Why isn't it clicking any more?

Butch talks about the coaching change in Ottawa giving them a different attitude and a winning way. If it's the coaching, what does that say abou the Isles?

7:26 pm: With 2:42 left of the third, Jack pulls Nabokovo and by 2:11 there was a puck in the net for the Sens 5th goal of the game.

It seems to never really work out for Jack when he pulls the goalie early.

In all honesty, I know they talk about "inching" their way to the playoffs, but I just don't see it happening at all.

7:17 pm: Proving how much heart Matt Moulson has, after colliding with a Senator and going down to the ice clutching his knee, Moulson tries to get off the ice grimacing and mouthing "eff." Just as he makes he way to withing a few inches of the bench, the puck is within reach and he stops to play it knowing there is a chance.

But while I was writing that, Chris Neil scored on mid-air deflection of the puck after Streit broke a stick on a slapshot leaving the puck vulnerable in open ice. Crap.

7:11 pm: PA Parenteau scored a HUGE goal with a bouncing puck to get the Isles a little closer to evening up the score.

Matt Moulson gets the assist while it really looked like JT wanted the puck as he was crossing over to get to it, but PA managed to shoot it out of the air and into the webbing.

Nice going PA. (his agent just added another zero....)

7:02 pm: Love how my daughter makes the observations of "How come no one can hit the net???" This is why the Isles are where they are in the standings.

And with that, a bad turnover by Mike Mottau in his first game back after concussion causes the Sens to be up 3-1. Obrien scores just his second goal of the season against Nabokov.

6:53 pm: An early goal by John Tavares may have lead the Isles to over confidence. Two goals on two penalties have put them behind the 8 ball once again as they head into the third period.

Once again, Erik Karlsson shows off why he was an all-star this year. Erik assisted on both Sens goals. Normally the Isles PK unit is excellent, but tonight -- not so much.

11:41 am: Too late to make the official game notes, but Mike Mottau has been activated from IR. hmmmmm.... what does that do to the line-up? 7 am: Okay, not MY Road Trip. Theirs. I don't even have a passport.

Brian Rolston will have to wait until Monday to find out his fate after being put on waivers. It was nice of the Isles to wait until AFTER his birthday to do so. But the truth is the truth, he didn't produce the way the Isles expected he would.

Sorry Brian.

Oh, Happy Birthday Marty Reasoner. Watch out. You may be next.

David Ullstrom has been called up and Dylan Reese was skating but 100% ready to return to game action.

Today is the last game before the trade deadline and the question will be if any of the current Islanders will play their last game in an Isles sweater. My personal opinion? Probably not.

My personal opinion, and I really don't know squanto, any movement Snow makes will be depth only.

Okay, now for a bonus Movie Review. Last night I rented GOON on Verizon FiOS OnDemand. The movie was freakin' awesome. It took 35 years for a new SlapShot worthy hockey movie. This one, like SlapShot, will stand the test of time.

Actually, you can't even tell if it's set in 1985 or now. It's funny, violent, poignant and based on a true life man who is now a police office in Mass.

SEE IT. You'll love it.
