**10:23 pm: I tried to get something extra on what happened today, but failed. So I won't bother recreating my personal musings here. If you want my opinion on this, it can be found at http://www.7thwoman.blogspot.com.
Original post:

According to the Tweet that just hit my amish phone, the Islanders and Matt Moulson have settled on only a ONE year deal at $2.45 mil. It looks like additional Tweets are making me believe they didn't have to enter the Arbitrator's office to make this deal.

I'm not exactly thrilled with this, but perhaps it gives Matt and the Islanders the leeway to see what he can do this season in order to come to an agreement for a long term deal.

More as it comes down the wire from Ms. Strang.

*11:09 am: According to Katie who spoke with Matt, he said he was nervous waiting in the hallway while the deal was reached. He said everyone is happy.

I'm not Matty. I'm not! I was looking for 3 years!

The quote from the Islanders main website from GM Garth Snow:

“Matt is one of our young core of players and we’re excited to have him return this upcoming season,” Islanders General Manager Garth Snow said. “He was an integral part of our lineup last season, playing in all 82 games and hitting the 30-goal plateau for the first time in his career.”

*Note: And Ryan Jankowski lands job as Western Amateur scout for Montreal. Not an Assistant GM job - but that shouldn't take him long. Good Luck Ryan!
