10:06 pm: The Isles will leave Florida empty handed. With Jose Theodore replaced by Marskstrum, the Panthers continue to dominate the NY Islanders. He turned away all 18 shots the Isles threw at him.

They even killed off a 5 on 3 situation late in the third. With Frans Nielsen bleeding from a stick to the face (which was considered accidental) he still took the final shifts during the extra "men" advantage.

John Tavares tries his best, but to no avail. He couldn't lift the puck over Markstrum to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Michael Grabner had a few chances and couldn't bury them and Kyle Okposo has to learn not to shoot wide.

No points in Florida. Nothing. Nothing really good to speak of from the game in Tampa and only an effective power play to take out of Sunrise.

This is not going to get the Isles very far this season if they can't figure out a way to beat teams - No Matter What.

They didn't play with the desperation they needed. What will it take to make them realize?

The Isles will face the Pens on Tuesday in Uniondale. That doesn't bode well for points on the board. The Isles losing streak stands at two. How long will this one go so early in the season? Find a way.

9:55 pm: okay, that score says it all right now.

8:26 pm: Well, after a quick Streit goal to start the game, the Isles have been outshot throughout the entire 1st period. Nabokov has played well and stopped a penalty shot, but let up a goal to Versteeg while splayed in his crease. It's going to be a tough game for the Isles.

Matt Martin tried to spark a fire in the Isles and sat for five for his efforts.

They need to put some more pucks in front of Theodore.

5 pm: Did ya miss me? Nah. Of course you didn't! But tonight is the Islanders SECOND road game of the 2011-2012 season and Jack Capuano is hoping it doesn't go the way of the first.

The Isles didn't realize they were supposed to skate in that first 20 minutes, so tonight I'm hoping it was Starbucks Double Shots all around the dressing room so they come up with enough jump to forget the first time they met the Panthers.

Jack said he'd shake up the lines as others deserve more ice time. Blake Comeau is back in the line-up and at his usual spot. So I suppose that means OTHERS will be moved around.

Nabokov in net with Montoya dressed as back-up. I hope Ricky enjoyed his Florida vacation. Does this mean he'll be in neet on TUESDAY night at home? Again, no one knows but Rick.

Nabby won't have to contend with Sean Bergenheim. It didn't take long for him to tweak something to pull him out of the line-up.

I'll jump on the Rookie & The Reporter's Live Blog on the Isles main website. Perhaps you should say hi as well. I may also say Hi on the Litterbox Cats blog. Great website.

So... Let's Go Islanders! You have to leave Florida with SOMETHING other than a sunburn and a few oranges.
