2 pm: Bridgeport beat writer Mike Fornabaio reports that Calvin DeHaan will be out for the remainder of the season for the SoundTigers with a dislocated left shoulder. I see shades of Kyle Okposo.... So for all those hoping that this would be DeHaan's breakout season -- sorry. Ain't happening.

Thanks to Twitter buddy @RockyNY who proded me while I was driving to work about the decision for master developer for the Hub project in Nassau County.

I believed I read somewhere that it was Blumenfeld that had been chosen. @RockyNY requested a link to the story and when I attempted to located, it was nowhere to be found.

Was I dreaming, a bad dream at that? While any developer with plans to keep the Islanders in Nassau County would receive my support, I was hoping for a different choice, so I didn't say anything at the time I read it. Perhaps I should have so that I had a record of it. Or perhaps -- it really was a dream.

In an effort to garner an answer, I Tweeted directly to Mr. Mangano who does respond, or perhaps has someone in the office respond. I received the following Tweet:

@EdMangano@7thWoman I will be holding a press conference in the coming days to announce my plans to generate jobs at the Hub and retain the Isles.

According to Mr. Mangano's own Twitter feed, the decision was to come by 10/19. As with everything Nassau County does -- it's running a little late.

I do not question Mr. Mangano's desire to keep the NY Islanders in Nassau County. I'm pretty sure the County is feeling the effects of losing sales tax revenue this month due to the NHL Lockout. I will be very interested in hearing what he has to say and will make every effort to be there front and center for this up coming press conference.

Because I don't think a Twitter response constitues an interview.

Sideboard: I am going to make my way to IceWorks on Wednesday to speak with the Islanders coaching staff who are marking their time teaching locals the fine art of hockey. At least I will see ice.
