10/1/12 7:27 am: Do you read the NY Post? Have you seen Larry Brooks & company's article on the pending sale of the Isles? http://www.nypost.com/p/news/business/frozen_account_WKFBjMUu87aiMxswHMkaxO

I will say the following: 1) This is not the first I am hearing of it, but it is the first I have heard of a price. 2) Pat LaFonatine would do well being a component in any acquisition of the Islanders as he is well loved by just about everyone but Charles Wang. 3) They are looking to keep the team in Long Island which would also make everyone happy including the League. 4) The most interesting piece of information in the article was that Denis Potvin and Bobby Nystrom are working with a developer to keep the Isles in Nassau.

Meanwhile Ed Mangano has NOT announced the choice of Master Developer for the area, so we can't even be sure that the ex-Isles pair is working with the right one!

Of course, the Islanders "were not available for comment." Expect them not to be until they come right out and say "Pending League approval, the New York Islanders have been sold to -- Fill in the blank."

9/30/12 11:10 pm: Okay, let's try to have a little fun with this. Play GM on HockeyBuzz.com and you guys will vote on creating the NY Islander All-Time Best Team. Now I don't know if all of a sudden we will be battling the other teams on the website, but let's get started.

Now, you have to start from net out, right? So here you go. I am assuming the goalie that comes in #2 in the poll will be the back-up. But I have to find out some details.

This should be fun, because if left up to me, I'd have a team that would lose every game. (Insert snide remark here.)

Let's see if this poll works, shall we? Vote!
