The Philadelphia Flyers open their preseason schedule and a very busy few days of games with split-squad matches on the road against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center in Newark and against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

WORLD CUP UPDATES
* Team Europe upset Team Sweden in overtime, 4-3, to advance to the tournament finals against Team Canada. For the Flyers, that means three players -- Team Europe's Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Mark Streit and Team Canada's Claude Giroux -- remain in Toronto.
* The Flyers' players whose teams have been eliminated from the tournament -- Team North America's Shayne Gostisbehere and Sean Couturier and Team Czech Republic's Jakub Voracek and Michal Neuvirth -- will be available to Philly this week for practices and preseason games.
