Notre Dame D-man Ian Cole, a 2007 first round pick of the Blues, has informed the organization that he will remain in school for another year and will not join the Blues at this time.

As expected Aaron Palushaj has left Michigan and will arrive in Peoria early this evening. He will not play in the game tonight. They want to get him a few practices in before he dresses in a game. Palushaj was drafted in the 2nd round in 2007.

There is a good chance Alex Pietrangelo is assigned to Peoria if the Rivermen are still playing when his season in the OHL expires.

Blues senasational rookie Patrik Berglund suffered what the club is calling "lower body injury" last night in Detroit.

John Davidson tells me Berglund could play Saturday in Dallas and that the injury is not considered serious.

Sources tell me he wll be re-evaluated today and the club will then have a clearer indication of the seriousness of the injury.

I want to pass along some information in addition to what I wrote in yesterday's story regarding potentional conflicts between Cardinals and Blues Fox Sports telecasts in the coming weeks.

No official decision has been made at this time as to how a conflict will be handled. What we do know is in the case of a conflict one team will stay on Fox sports while the other will move to a secondary channel. The idea of alternateing which team gets bumped to a secondary channel is a possibility. We could see a scenario where the Blues are moved one game and the Cardinals are moved to the secondary channel the next time.

Obviously the possibility of the Blues being moved is there but a decision has yet to be determined.

Fox Sports will work with all their partners in an effort to satisfy all parties.

Stay tuned....

More on the Blues later...

Rink Rats!

The Washington Capitals are negotiating with D-man and former first round pick Joe Finley whose career has ended at the University of North Dakota.

Former Hobey Baker award winner Ryan Duncan who is also done at UND has received interest from multiple clubs. Duncan, who participated in the Blues prospect camp a few summer’s ago, has not heard from St. Louis.

Congrats to Michigan forward and St. Louis native Travis Turnbull who agreed to a two year deal with the Buffalo Sabres Thursday night. He will report to Portland and be in the lineup tomorrow night against Lowell.

Another St. Louis native Joe Vitale has signed a one year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 24 year old Captained Northeastern Univerity the last two seasons and will report directly to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

As someone who has covered Mike Danton as a player and his Federal Court Case very closely I am somewhat confused by some of the hopeless commentary I have read. The idea of him resuming his professional career is so far down the road. He still needs to clear up entry back into the USA and more importantly get his life re-established. You have never heard me say one bad word about the guy and I never will. Some media people, particularly those in Canada, need to settle down in regards to his hockey career. Who is this so called source anyway that says he is planning his professional hockey return? Do I really need to ask? We all know.

Blues Clues!

Special congratulations to Blues Media Relations assistant Rich Jankowski and his wife Liz on the birth of their daughter Lily Elizabeth Jankowski who came into the world Friday morning at 9:45! Lily weighed in at 8lbs, 10 ounces.

More to come,
