Dan McGillis is in Vancouver on a Tryout.

First off, I wanted to thank the many of you who are downloading our talkcast on i-tunes. So far we have been a "work in progress," but this is the last week of our preseason, before the show launches next weeks with several upgrades and tweaks... The show will have a new format, plenty of NHL guests, and a new cohost....and a new name...

The Format will consist of a call-in section, a daily rumour mill section, a hockey guest, as well as a fun look at news around the league.

Our co-host is the lovely and talented Julie Robenhymer. She has an amazing background. She grew up around the rink and used to play with Mike Keenan's daughter in the basement of the Spectrum. Julie went to UMass where she worked for the team and traveled around with them and graduated with a degree in Sports Management and Journalism. Julie then went on to become Miss New Jersey 2005 and compete in the Miss America Pageant (an experience that garnered her the nickname "Zamboni Girl" from the other participants). She is also a fan of the muckers and grinders and has some serious opinions about the game.

Julie will also be writing a blog for us as well as helping co-host the talkcasts. Welcome aboard Jules!

Today's Talkcast is at 2pmET

What we need for the Talkcast is a new name...I am leaning towards, "Hockeybuzz Live" but there surely must be something better out there. If any of you can think of a name, please respond to this thread.

QUICK HIT RUMOURS.

The Habs and Sharks talks are apparently intensifying. The Sharks would love to grab Halak and word is the Habs like a young forward plus a prospect. One source told me, "There is a two week window here. But I was told that this is 70% a go." Of course that does mean that it is 30% a no-go...

The Bruins are once again seriously considering Danny Markov (e3).

The Lightning sale is rumoured to be in jeopardy. I am hearing varying reports from the ownership group is a little short to "these rumours are way overblown and it will get done." I have said before, I certainly hope it does get done with Doug's group. We need him back in hockey. If it does not, don't be shocked if another group gets it done. There were other groups looking into Tampa I am told.

I am also told that there are several groups looking into several teams right now. We could very easily see more teams sell....even some teams that you would never expect.

Our boy Jason Allison, who I think I owe money to at this point for as much as I've written about him over the last two years, is reportedly closing in on one team in the East and a deal could be done, "Any Minute" IF, and I repeat IF IF IF, Jason is willing to take a one year deal.

THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS BLOG BOX LAUNCHES

A very exciting day around here as the New York Islanders Blog Box has launched today. We have joined up with the Isles on this project and are very excited about all the possibilities. go to The NY Islanders Blog Box presented by Hockeybuzz.com to check it out.

* Also, I spoke to Gary Bettman last night and he shared some great stuff regarding the Ice Bowl with me. I am talking to someone else this afternoon, so look for that story tomorrow.

Markov to B's "70%"

A talked to a source now that feels that Danny Markov signing is at hand, and it could be the Bruins...."I put it at 70%" Word is that the Ducks are not pursuing Markov at all due to cap restrictions.
