When Tom Chorske announced he was not coming back, his job was wide open as the Devils searched for a replacement. I even joked on XM with Scott Laughlin that they should hire me as the color commentator and I was in the running for the job.
The job is expected to go to New York Daily News sports writer, Sherry Ross. Excellent choice and I remember hearing her voice through my AM radio back in the early 90's and she has an excellent voice for radio in my opinion and gives great insightful analysis. Great move by Devils management.

It is sad to see one of my childhood idols retire, Sean Burke. Before there was Martin Brodeur, Chris Terreri, and Craig Billington, there was Sean Burke that had an improbable stretch to get the Devils into the playoffs for the first time as a rookie and taking the Devils within one game of the 1988 Stanley Cup finals. I remember even reading an article about him in SI for Kids and ripped out his printed card out of the magazine which hung on my bedroom wall for a decade. He had a great career and wish him the best.
